So I found this pattern for mitten/gloves (hereafter known as glittens) on knitty and thought they were really cool. so here they are.
as I hate monotony I switched the colour pattern on the glove. yay.

they were kind of tricky, hence Knitty giving it an "extraspicy" rating, but they were fun to make.

and here's the link if you want to try your hand at it.

yup they are very warm. which is nice since I have to walk up hill to school in the winter (my college is on a mountain.)
my roommate just bought a pair of glittens at target, but homemade ones are so much warmer.

Those look great! I'm almost done with one glitten from that pattern, and I was wondering if you can explain how you reverse the pattern to make the right hand one like the directions say? I don't understand what that means at all.

um... I'm trying to remember how I actually did it.. Tongue

you mean reversing the thumb gusset?
instead of : k to the second-to-last st on the second needle. P second-to-last stitch. Do a twisted make-one , k to end of row. (left handed glove)

you'll want to knit to the second stitch on the third needle. do a twisted make-one, then purl the next stitch and continue from there (right handed glove)

I think that's how I did it. it took a while for me to wrap my brain around it but I think that's it.

i don't have my knitting near me so i can't wrap my own brain around what you are saying, but i'll try it out when i get home.

thanks again.
