I am from Mass and my Mum and I are going to be taking a road trip up to the Common Ground Fair in Unity tomorrow.  Has anyone ever been?  Is anyone else going?  I am interested in checking out local fibers and wool-- there seems to be a good selection according to their web site!

My wife and I went last year for the first time, and it was great.  We both agreed that it was what a real agricultural fair should be.  There's nothing wrong with such things, but there where no cheesy rides or vendors.  There's quite a large selection of food and vendors ranging from better quality versions of typical fair stuff to very artsy things you would never find at a normal fair.
There is a large selection of fiber at all stages from raw wool to finished yarn, and plenty of people to demonstrate what can be done with all of it.
I hope that helps...

Very much so!  We are both quite excited to attend!  (And I agree with you on the benefits of not having cheesy rides, etc.  That really takes away from things I think!)  My mother is particularly interested in chair caning-- I am also hoping to see some traditional rug hookers too.

My wife has been slowly getting into rug hooking.  She's done a few so far.  There wasn't that much emphasis on it last year, but it sounds like there will be more this year.
I haven't been crafty for a while (to busy with going back to school and such) but have been getting back into doing more creative things.  It's certainly a good outlet.
After last year's visit though, we decided that the Common Ground Fair is THE fair.
