Is it possible for you to post a template (or a link to one) for the guitar pics.

I ask because I really like your idea and want to do it for a friend who plays, but I personally don't have any guitar pics to trace. I'm not sure if they come in different shapes or sizes or any of that because I am musically defunct.

He plays an electric guitar (I think)....and another of my friends play bass.

Do they use the same pics?

I didn't know so I asked my husband. The short answer was "yes", so I googled it, and got a nice Wikipedia article all about guitar picks  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_pick It doesn't have templates per se but it does show different shapes and explain some of the whys and wherefores behind various choices in picks weight, shapes and materials, so if you wanted to fiddle around with printing off the photo and using it for templates, go for it.

For those looking for another source of cards, don't forget things like World of Warcraft subscription cards. (We have credit cards but my husband prefers to buy renewal cards from EB - and they would make very nice heavy picks, either with the elven face, or part of the WoW logo.)

I searched a bit and couldn't find a template per se, but I found a picture of a card with the picks traced on it, so you could try to get it to print to the same size as the card you're using and it'll be the right size. There's also suggestions for different materials for different thicknesses of picks.

Hope this helps!  Cheesy

I was thinking of doing the same thing, except with my old phone and gift cards! Fake credit cards is a great idea too! I wasn't sure how to go about cutting them though, since some of them are thicker and wouldn't go well with scissors. How did you do it?

I just used "regular" scissors (for lack of a better word Tongue) to cut 'em out, and fine-grade sandpaper all around the edges til they weren't jaggedy anymore. It took, like, 20 minutes to make about 15 picks.
