I worked on it on-and-off over exams and Christmas, so it's hard to tell, really!  I think that once I picked it up to work on it, progress was quite quick.  I know some of the people on this knit-a-long finished theirs very quickly.  The stitch pattern is very easy to memorise so it's quite mindless work, and you work from the bottom up so it gets quicker and quicker as the rows get shorter!

arg! what am i doing wrong? so i started knitting the belle star. and i did the "set-up" row with the  dYo but when I went to purl, i sorta got confused! am i suppose to purl BOTH of the loops of dYo or am i suppose to purl the first PART of the dYo and drop the second half? i dont know how to describe this. does anyone know what i am talking about?  Huh

Ok, read the pattern again.  It actually does say what to do!  But don't worry, because I'll tell you now - you know how it's like two loops?  Drop the first loop off the needle, and purl into the second one.  Good luck!

I'm reviving this knit-a-long cuz why make another topic of the same thing?  I'm knitting this for my bf's sis.  I'm going to have to try a few swatches because I definately did not get the yarn the pattern called for.  Instead I found this:  Shag from Crystal Palace Yarns  www.straw.com.  It was 50% off at a little store I went to in Des Moines.  I bought four skeins for $20.

I finally finished it.  I didn't add tassles because the few I added made it look really raggedy.  I was going to add some decorative beads on a string, but that fell through.  To top it off, this pic is horrible.... ugh it's been a long day and my knitting crap is EVERYWHERE.

And the increases just made folds, not a nice V shape.  I'll try and block it to see if it helps.
