Well I'm going as a pirate this year and I decided that I defintiely need a hat. I made one using this wonderful tute http://dunbarnebraska.blogspot.com/2006/10/aaaaaargh-how-to-make-3-point-pirate.html

Sorry I look retarded in EVERY picture.

And I don't even know how I took this picture, I was trying to take a picture of my skirt  Embarrassed

(I  actually decided it was a cool picture Wink)

For the rest of my costume I'll have pantaloons, a pouffy shirt, lace up boot, and a "leather" vest thing.
BUT I can't decide if I should do something else to my hat, it looks kind of. . . lifeless?. . . dumb?

Anywho post any sugguestions.

As far as I can tell it looks good, not too big.  Very piratey.  One thing, though, it looks like you can see the underside of the fabric?  Or the interfacing?  What appears to be white bits in the photo, at any rate.  Is there anything you can do to cover them up?

I love your hat! I think with the rest of your costume it'll be great, it kind of looks beaten up, weathered like a Pirate hat that seen stuff no ordinary hat should see.

And thank you for the link - my daughter is in the throes of a huge Jack Sparrow fixation, she'll combust with excitement when I make her one too.
