I made this for my brother who has spent several Christmases wearing a 1980s Santa Bear brain protector (stolen from said Santa Bear).  I made it in acrylic instead of wool so he can wash it since he'll wear it indoors all winter.  I was so pleased with how fun and easy this brain protector was to knit.  It was my first time with dpns!  I'm totally over my fear and ready to give socks a go!

Here's the free pile of flesh:

And now, the brain protector.

I'll try to get some action shots later.  It fits like a dream and sits close to the head.  yay!

Yay!  Thank you!  It was such a quick knit!  I spent much of the postseason/World Series knitting!

Here's a picture of my brother "modeling" his new brain protector Christmas morning at about 6am (he woke us up shouting, "Santa's come!  Santa's come!" while running through the hallway in a long underwear one piece with boxers that said "I'm your Christmas present."  Classy).

Here's the handsome devil (I kill myself! Wink)

Yep. That sounds familiar....

Killer brain protector, btw. Goes well with the long underwear.

oo oo I've just started making this...am brain protector obsessed at the moment.  Am a bit worried that it is coming out a bit small....using DK wool - which might be the wrong choice....its my first go at dpns too...like knitting whilst tickling a hedgehog but great fun.

Your brain protector looks fabulous darling!
