so everyone knows halloween is..well soon. and i'm a last minute type of person. haha i really need a sailor hat to complete my costume and too cheap to buy one let alone find one to buy.
setting the story aside now, does anyone have an idea of how i can go about making a sailor hat.
i have a vague idea of putting together the brim and...bucket? of the hat, but my vague ideas don't take me too far.

any help is greatlllyyy appreciated!

The top of the sailor hat that comes with most patterns has multiple sections like a baseball cap.  The brim has a slight flare and is the size of the hat at the bottom.  The pattern for the brim looks like an open donur (not a complete circle...just round enough to go around the hat).  The brim is interfaced and lined and attached to the hat as one piece.  It is usually top stitched several times around the brim starting at the top, going down about 1/4 inch increments until you get to the base of the hat.
