In anticipation of my adopting a puppy from the shelter, I've been looking up for heaps of doggy treats for her, like beds and toys and outfits.

I also have a kitty and a ratty, so I found heaps of things on my travels of these tutorials. Here y'are!

Of course, it wouldn't be hard to change the kitty stuff into dog stuff and vice versa!

Horses aren't forgotten either! There are 4 horse treats to make on this page:: http://www.soapdelicatessen.com/crafts/petcrafts/horsecookies/

Here's some other ideas I stumbled upon::
  • For a pet that sleeps on your bed make a separate cover for the foot of the bed that can be washed seperately.
  • Dip your index finger in paint to add 'paw prints' to a shirt or sweatshirt and add, my (insert your dog's breed) walks all over me.

  • Glue 4 dog bone treats in a square shape, finish with a matt spray varnish.
  • Add a photo, and glue onto cardboard cut to fit. Glue a magnet to the back.
[/list]

Here's alink to pampering your poochie without spoiling him/her:: http://www.soapdelicatessen.com/crafts/petcrafts/pamper/

i'll add more as my hunt continues Smiley ((i've gone a little crazy at the thought of getting a puppy))

Hey!  I just got a kitten (yay!) and I was wondering if anyone had a tutorial for a cat halter that I could make. Bramble is very curious and I'd love to take her outside, but we don't have a yard, and I want to take her on walks (exercise is good for owners too; it'll get me out of the house and away from my sewing machine for a while!) Thanks everyone! Cheesy

Holy crap taking a cat for a walk is hard! Don't expect a walk around the block!

I reckon using like bias binding or something, and just looking at a pcture of a halter and sort of copying. Put a d-ring on the centre back and add a leash! Make sure its a snug fit, otherwise he'll worm his way out of it!

I don't have a tutorial but I was in the dollar store the other day, and they were selling harnesses and leashes each for a buck.  I don't think you could buy the buckles and loops for that price.  If you found one at a dollar store, you could dress it up a little with fabric paint or jewels.

I want to make a cat halter too, the only one's I've seen are really expensive (I live in England).   My cat seems to think he's a dog, he already goes for walks with me, he just sometimes gets a little distracted and has to be carried home...

Hi everyone, I just registered here after lurking around for a long time.  I haven't done many crafts because...well, I'm simply pretty lazy lol.  Anyways, I found some left over vinyl my mother used to recover some kitchen chairs and decided I was going to make my pup a nice little coat.  I've gotten alot of help from browsing through here but I also wanted to post one of my finds.  I don't know how many of you know of this, but Simplicity has a bunch of patterns for pets and I was thinking of picking one up just to keep around for (possible lol) future use.  >Here< is the link to their patterns.  Hope it's useful to you guys Smiley

Does anyone have a tutorial for making a regular cat collar?  It doesn't look like it should be too hard, but I'm worried about using the right material/sewing it correctly so it is not a hazard.  Thanks!

My friend made one for her cat. She fabric glued two layers of plastic bags between two layers of fabric. I thinks she just used two pieces of some sort of wire to keep the ends open. She just hand washes hers.

ferrety or small furry animal tutorials:
Budget Delux ferret Hammock
Small dog or kitty cuddle cup (would work for multiple ferret homes)
No sew Sugar Glider accessories
Ferret Hammocks
Crocheted ferret hammock (if your ferrets nails are an issue I suggest lining the side they'll sleep on with cotton or denim)
Ilea's Ferret Hammock Tut
Pocket Hammock
rat sized pocket hammock
Cat Basket (but my ferrets would love it too)
CAt tunnel (once again my ferrets would love this too)
Crocheted Tunnel (Once again I recomend Lining if your pets have issues with long nails)
Pet Pillow With Cover
Loom knit Easter Egg for pets (it Jingles)

I posted some on the last page:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=128720.msg2379546#msg2379546
It seems to me most ferret items would work for sugar gliders if shrunk down a bit.
Hopefully that will give you some ideas!
