I love your new chart, superstitch! I was thinking of doing something similar--the two layers of color changes is a little much for me. I wanna see a swatch!

It sounds like a dreamy yarn. By the way, how did you do that chart? That would be really helpful for finding a good color palette.

well i'm sure there are better ways to do it, but i used what i had, microsoft excel, i just made the grid 12 pixels by 12 pixels and copied the chart by filling each square with the color i wanted. Of course excel only gives about 30-40 colors to choose from so i couldn't get perfect matches, like that aqua color is off, but it gives me a good representation. Once i finalize my plans i'm going to make a full chart that i can follow instead of having to find my place on a different column everytime while working the body.

Ok i modified my color chart a little bit more, i took out the yellow that was in the light blue row, every single bit of scroll work is now white, with blues as backgrounds, i think it still gives it that brocade look


now my only dilemma is yarn, i had decided on the cashcotton because i love it, and its way more practical for me to have a sweater made with a cotton blend because its not that cold in texas (except for today brrr) BUT its 9 dollars a ball, 7.50 online but then i have shipping. So i think the sweater would end up costing me over 175 dollars! I dont mind working with a yarn that works up with 24-26 sts to 4 inches because i can figure out my gague and make a smaller size, but i just dont know what yarn to go with now.

I'm planning on using cream as my pattern color, and then pretty, jet, seafoam, chintz and vivid as my background colors.

Superstitch, thanks for sharing your chart. Your colors look great! If you don't mind, I'm going to try it as a guide for doing my own colors. With fewer colors, I may be able to get away with using Knitpicks' Palette, and the colors I want. I may post here asking for opinions of possible color choices after I have experimented a bit.

wow! I'm am in LOVE with the first color chart on your blog! Pinks and reds is usally the colors i favor, i only went with the blues because cashcotton offers 5 blues to choose from and only one pink and one red. I need to seriously rethink my color choices. I was thinking that it needed to be shades of one color to look cohesive but i really love the pinks and greys together.
