I prefer metal and don't own a single wooden or bamboo DPN, using metal on my first ever try at stranded knitting didn't give me the tension/puckering problems some experience. I think many but not all people will get a better result with wood/bamboo. Why risk it - for a beautiful and labour-intensive project like this, you should take every precaution to ensure it turns out nicely!

I have had my eyes on this pullover since I first saw it on Eunny's blog. But I'm wondering, is there a difference in the colours she is showing there (http://www.eunnyjang.com/knit/2006/07/) and the colours in the pattern? Looks to me like there is less yellow in the first pictures but it could be the camera settings or light or something, of course.

I really like the blues and greens  but think I'll have to play around with colours a bit before I buy any yarn. The two-coloured version is also one to consider...aahhh, decisions!

The swatch she pictures has the yellow being brighter, but the snipits of the sweater being worn looks about the same as the mag.

I ordered the rest of the yarn I needed this weekend, so I should be casting on later this week or next week  Grin

I don't know if anyone else is still working on this, but I got my yarn and cast on.  I'm about 6 rows into the colorwork, so nothing photoworthy, but so far I love how the yarns are working together.

However, I did have gauge issues with the bottom band, so after I get through one repeat of the chart, I'm going to try it on and see if it has evened out with the colorwork, or if I need to frog and knit a smaller size.

i'm still planning on knitting it, i just haven't been able to buy yarn for it yet, my previous attempt failed because the bottom band was too large, try it on soon!

Your experience is why I want to try it on soon.  I figure getting 10 rows to one repeat will give me a better show of how it will fit other than the bottom band.

I had gauge trouble too and started over about five times.  (Ugh, re-doing that bottom band over and over sucks).

I think I finally got it right and am almost through one repeat of the chart.  I've tried it on a couple times as I was going and it seemed to fit right.  I've done about two inches worth since the last try-on though, so tonight I am going to try it on again.  I sure hope it fits well because I don't want to start over yet again.  Regarding the bottom band...when I finally got stitch gauge, my row gauge was still off, so I ended up adding a few rows so that it came out the correct length.  I am getting correct stitch and row gauge in the colorwork though.

I hope yours fits well and you don't have to start over.
