It is about 12"x12"x12". It has 4 nearly identical sides- brass with steel ?'s. There are no coins or mushrooms in it yet, but someday...

That is just awesome. Since it's metal there are so many possiblities. Storage, light fixture, and co much more.
I made a "?" block as a gift box to a friend one year out of cardboard. Your metal one is so much cooler though.

coolies, I saw a tute for similar of this out on the internet pages somewhere, I never thought someone would make it or see someone else make it. Cheesy I think it is really cool. Does one side open or can you store stuff in it?

Thank you so much for the praise. It actually was quite a hassle, but well worth it.
It doesn't have a top or bottom, so I've kind of thought about making a giant plush mushroom to be punched out from underneath.
I moved recently and have not gotten around to reassembling it. Instead, the sides are up on my wall in a row. Now I'm shopping around for some faux brick sheets to mix in with them.

I have not seen any tutorials on this subject, but haven't looked either. It seemed like a straight forward project, and after a little trial and error (it was originally going to be mounted on a frame of cut 2x4s) was just a matter of time invested. And repeated trips to the metal store.

That is such a brilliant idea! I definitely like the idea of having a plush mushroom in it (but would you make a red or a green one?) You could make a plush star too, or a feather. I quite agree with the person who said the possibilities are endless. The fact that it's metal just makes it so much cooler too! I wish I had those skills Smiley

I would probably make a green mushroom. I like red better as a color, but it's just not practical-
Being 11 feet tall would be kind of novel for a minute or 2, but an extra life would be SO much better.

Brilliant box!

Ooh it would be cool if you duct tape (because you can't sew metal) a square piece of nylon or something stretchy to the bottom. Then you can put a mushroom on it and punch it to pop it out! Or headbutt it.

Yes. The plan is to have an elastic mesh attached the the bolts at the top 4 corners, and then stretched down to the bottom and held with some boobytrap-style hair trigger to lauch things out when provoked from beneath.

Someday.
