so what would be some good brands/kinds of nail polish to buy when Im at the store?

Sorry, I really don't know more than the stuff I posted.  If you can't find the words acrylic (YES) or "enamel" (NO) on the bottle, you'll just have to take your chances and experiment.  (For avoiding those clear ones that will eventually yellow though, the advice is to go with a "better" brand... doesn't necessarily mean all cheapies would yellow though).
Maybelline Wet Shine was mentioned as holding up well, as was a Revlon, so you might want to start there if you really want to use a nail polish instead of one of the other acrylic options.

I got my package from Nelly and it's awesome! We ended up sending each other the same kind of package, which is awesome. I don't have a good camera yet, but I will update with pictures when I get them.

I got:
A cool free-form stencilled Hep Alien t-shirt
A short blue and white knit scarf
A blue beaded bracelet and matching earrings
A tall mug with hot cocoa
A mini CD-r with Hep Alien-ish music

Pretty cool stuff Smiley
