Yay! I finally made my sexy nurse dress! I'm really pleased with the way it came out I made the little red cross patch and added low pockets like on the front of lab coats. The belt is just one I had , but I think ill make one thats a little thicker eventually . I also want to come up with some more nurse/Dr type patches to put on the sleeve and maby a cool name patch too . so If you have any ideas please share them .also I REALLY NEED TO MAKE A NURSE HAT  to go with it so If any one knows how or knows a tute PLEASE HELP ME ! i would really appreciate it .I also took pics along the way ... its my first attempt at any kind of tute so bear with me ...

you can see the pockets in this one

Now to get started .. what I did was make a pattern dress along time ago out of some material I don't particularly care for .. just to get a shape I like for future reference . This one is pretty much a long t shirt that flares a little at the bottom...

I just double the fabric and trace the pattern dress

then pin and cut it out

then you remove the button strip and collar from an old  shirt
and pin it on... i reccomend to start in the middle of the back of the neck so everything ends up straight.

next just cut to desired legnth and hem , hem the sleeves and add your "hot ( insert theme here) button-up mini-dress" details and accessories..and wa  la !

Its super simple ! especially since the sleeves aren't separate pieces . I really hope that some one tries this and posts pics . I would love to see what creative versions you come up with ! I will definitely be making more also !

Thank you so much for taking the time to look.
Please let me know what you think .
Have a great day !
Jayne

I love the costume- you make a  lovely nurse.  I also love the fact you're rocking out with the fishnets.  Sweet.

For the nurse's cap, I found this tute:

Thank you very much for the compliments! As for the garbage can  Cheesy.. I probably get more compliments on that than ANY other item in my house lol. people seem to really get a kick out of it ... they will go to through something away and they are like OMG is this really your garbage ? and when I say yes they are tickeled pink ! there is just something about a resturant garbage in a house that makes it kinda fun . plus its so nice to have your garbage behind a protective door ( then it dosnt smell as much and my three big dogs stay out of  it !) thanx again to everyone for the nice comments!

Have a wonderfull day

No I havent noticed them to lay wierd ... but then again I dont have very braod shoulders , ... If you are wider through the shoulder area you may consider adding them seperate ... but as I said I havent noticed any problems with it ...

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone ...

Yeah, I just found this post in the tute area. Totally cute dress and purse.

I was going to tell you that I made a nurses hat out of one of those foam visors. I got a white one and cut out a cross out of red felt and glued it on. If you put it on upside down it stands up like some of them do. I did cut mine down some... I looked like I was trying to be the pope at first. hehe

Thanks so much for posting this!  My sisters being a nurse from Silent Hill, so we were in need of a nurse dress, and well came across this, and so far so good, just gotta add some pockets and hem the sleeves, I'll do my best to post a picture or two when done, so you can see your pattern in action, lol.
