All your pincushions looked so nice that I had to try this out myself. I made mine of jeans - oh boy it was a pain to pull the petal thread through this thing!

I don't use the denim blue + pink combination very often, it would be too much of cuteness for me in large amounts Smiley

That's so cute!!!  I love the little bird.  Did the bird start out as a planter or a mug?

It probably did. I got it a thrift store. It was to cute to pass up even though I didn't really have a purpose for it at the time.

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Yup... I bought those pointless pins, too.  I just throw them away as I come to them.  Roll Eyes

Magnets are good for clean ups.  But for pins spilled in a sofa or stuffed chair, nothing beats a cow magnet!

lol cow magnets
Here is a link to cow magnets.  The long shape with rounded end make them very useful for dragging them between cushion and arm or back of a chair/sofa and collecting lost needles and pins.

I love these pinchusions! I made one for my partner in the geek pride swap over the summer - check it out - it's based on teh square style that I've seen MissMeshell do:

I printed the apple logo on the fabric, since she's a mac user, and custom made the pins to match. It's hard to tell in the pictue, but the thread I used to "petal" the square is the same shade of blue as the apples.
