Thanks for the props guys.  And the slipstitch tutorial--that's so helpful and just what I needed!  I got the bullseye effect by using an old upholstery sample with big polka dots (yard sale score).  Now I want to make more.  My boyfriend already thinks I'm insane.   Wink

But it's such a wonderful kind of insane.  Grin

Glad the tutorial was helpful for you.  The upholstery looks beautiful on the pincushion, but I can only imagine was the couch must have looked like!  Shocked

Here's my offering for the evening: I used the same method as for the other lobed pincushions but I started with a 3d triangular shape.  Same kind of wraps just to the center of each of the four faces of the solid.

Looking down:

Ooo cute. Nice idea to do the pyramid shape. Even goes along with the Christmas Tree suggestion with the green.

I may try one that is a pincushion version of those 3-d stuffed trees. My sister used to make those all the time.

Thanks Smiley  It is rather tree-ish isn't it?  I still think I'll try stacking concentric round ones to make a tree.  Perhaps use one like this for the topper.  Ooo!  In the meantime, for November, we can do turkeys! Smiley

As for the shape, I wasn't sure if it actually was a pyramid or not since it didn't have a square base.  It's made of four equilateral triangles sewn together.  Due to acute brain failure, I couldn't think of what else to called it but a 3d triangular shape.  Wink

Oh, and thank you, loves2experiment!

Would that be a tetrahedron?

So, here is my quick and funny take on the christmas tree pincushion.
It makes me giggle.

That is freaking COOL! hehe, and Fidget, the idea of doing a 'pile' of round ones as a christmas tree is awesome...I might just have to make myself a special xmas tree pincushion, I suppose you could just bead it also instead of using pins and use it as an actual tree decoration or table decoration. Oh the possibilities! Grin

Okay...some more....

This is my first bunny that I have ever made. Made her while I was working on some more pincushions.  She has a wonky hiney so she list to one side.  She is thinking *why are those pincushions sitting flat and I can't???* Please just overlook my messy office!
