The There's no such thing as too many pincushions thread generated a lot of interest and a herd of really great pincushions.  So, let's make it an official craft-along!

Click here for the tutorial that started all the interest.  MissMeshell mentioned this back in April 06 in the Ongoing Fabric Swap Gallery.  The tutorial is well written and very easy to follow, and you get a pretty pincushion in the end. Smiley

With the holiday season coming up, these will make great little gifts for just about anyone.  Who doesn't have safety pins to keep up with?  Sewing needles?  A place to park brooches and pins?

Here's a picture of the first pincushion I made following the tutorial:

Now, let's see yours!

Edited to add link to pictorial tutorial of slip stitch to close turn hole: click here.

Fidget As a craft along, does that mean we will all just show these or will we have different themes every few weeks or what?

Yer Highness, yes, the idea is for everyone to make their take on the concept and show them off and share ideas and techniques.  You know I'm a pretty free-form sorta gal, but your idea for themes sounds interesting.  You have my blessing on coming up with themes and deadlines Grin - or not.  I suppose it should be up to everyone that choses to participate.

Ooo, yes!  I was thinking that earlier... It would make a perfect pumpkin!!  I've been following the other thread and you guys have pumped out some really great pincushions.  I'm hoping to try my hand at them while on a car trip this weekend.  10 hours in the car should yield a *few*!   Grin

Shimmer that would be a great road craft!  I found it easier to use a upholstery needle and a thimble.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.
