Hugh & Elizabeth DIY butterfly wedding August 25, 2006

I got so many great ideas from this board! Now that the wedding is over and I have some time to breathe I thought I would share some pics.

Our butterfly theme DIY stuff - our invitations (addresses & last names removed). Card stock, embossed velum, ribbon and a dollar store embellishment.

Ok I have to admit that hanging the spiral was a bit tricky since the ladder wasn't tall enough!



Our DYI wedding favours - 3 butterfly note cards & envelopes, tied with ribbon and decorated with a seed paper butterfly.

We found the images online, printed them and glued them to raised panel of the card stock. There were reallly supposed to be 4 cards per pack but we ran out of card stock and it was too late to order more. We also gave little flower design boxes filled with mints, with an origami butterfly attached.

And .... then they tied the knot!

We are very dissappointed with the pro pics. We plan to head either back to the church or into a studio, to fake the shots in the near future. 









The flowers were DIY - Costo + 2 bunches of roses & 1 bunch of mixed flowers (less than $60) = 3 bouquets, 3 corsages, 4 boutenierres

Awww! Congratulations and best wishes for the future for both of you!

August 25 is a good day on which to be married.  I did it in 1984 and Pookie and I are still together.

Perhaps it's the date, but our pro photographer missed The Hands shot, too.

Our photographer missed the hands shot, too......but I guess after 30+ years it still hasn't bothered me (still rapturously happy to be married to him- ours was an August wedding, too!)

Absolutely love, LOVE the butterfly garland decoration! Wonderful beyond words!
