whee! just got the awesomest package from loudxmouse!! i have a baby on the way, so she made the most adorable totoro baby hat & soot-sprite bootees!



since i don't have an actual baby yet (not till mid-january!) i had to get my old teddy bear to model them (they fit surprisingly well!):



here's a close-up shot of the hat so you can see the awesome expression on totoro's face:



yay! and thank you thank you! my husband thinks they're the best too - i believe his words were "f***ing awesome! now that's what i'm talking about!" (he's an even bigger totoro fan than i am)

Thankfully OneChordWonder recieved my item safe and sound, so I'll post the pics I took of what I sent her. 

I only wish it was more, you guys made such awesome stuff!

I knitted two headbands, one with little freestyle totoro ears on it (somewhat floppy, but they work) and one that's modeled after the one Sheeta wears in Castle in the Sky.


And those little blobs are soot sprites. ^_^

I love that soot sprite t-shirt.  Awesome.  I am amused that so many people made soot sprites and Kodamas.

By the way, I have both sets of stitch markers that I received in this swap hanging on my Christmas tree at work.  It seemed a shame not to put them on display when they're so cool.

Well, one of my co-workers knows what they are, but everyone else just thinks I am weird (but then, I am kind of used to that).

My tree currently looks like this:

Yeah, that's a soot sprite on the top of the tree.  The rest of the decorations are yarn, crochet hooks and more stitch markers.
