This is my very first time posting in this board! I do knit regularly, but I am one of those people that starts a million projects, and finishes two or three of them Wink

Anyway, I finally have a finished project to show off. The pictures does not do it justice. It is a neckwarmer with baby cables, and a really pretty tan yarn with little flecks of color. I made it for my mom. I used Sugar on Snow(http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall06/PATTsnow.html) from this months Knitty, but after figuring out the amount of stitches to cast on and the cable pattern, I pretty much did my own thing.
*Note: This was a birthday gift for my mom, and she is modeling  Smiley

Gosh that picture totally showed up as a chocolate cake (yum) and I was convinced that midnight cravings had got the better of me when I refreshed and it changed! Tell me I'm not crazy?

Beautiful neck warmer my dear, actually much nicer then the cake. I don't knit and I so badly want one for this winter, you're so lucky to be kept warm in style, I envy your skill.

It is actually for me mom. She walks and gets cold in the winter, so it was a birthday present.

Great job, raining dreams!

Here is my version, shown as hat and neckwarmer:

I love it as a hat b/c I always wear my hair up and this way, it can poke out of the top!  I used KnitPicks something.  I'll find the label and post which one it was, if anyone is interested.  I also didn't do as many rows past the yarn over row as it called for b/c I was afraid I would run out of yarn.  The green yarn is leftover Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran, the best yarn in the whole world.
