Hi There,

Some friends and I are trying to organize a Calgary knitting group. Our first meeting will be on Monday, October 4th at 7pm at the Good Earth Cafe at 1502 11th St. SW. Come prepared to buy a coffee or something so they won't kick us out, and to knit, crochet or whatever...or to learn to do one of those things. For more info, e-mail me at lambaste03@hotmail.com. Hope to see you there. Spread the word!

GREAT IDEA!  I had been looking to start/join a Calgary knitting group for some time.  I have it in my dayplanner and will try to make it that day.  I have been knitting for about 3 years (I taught myself out of the book, A Complete Idiots Guide to Knitting and Crocheting) and have a pretty good handle on what is going on.  I placed a message on the regular Calgary, anyone?? board encouraging others to join.

I'll try to make it out. I taught myself to knit about 2 months ago, I'm doing ok I think. But learning from others would help me so much.

YAY for meeting other crafties!

I'm so cute and Indie...take me seriously.

I'm on the Calgary SnB mailing list and am trying to rouse a couple of friends to meet up, but it's good to have more options!

I mean, at least I know you guys a wee bit better.  Wink

Although I can't make the SnB on the 4th, I am helping my sister-in-law in Edmonton organize a scarf drive. All donations will be going to the Edmonton Women's Shelter, so the more we can collect, the better. Final time I will be collecting scarves to send up to her will be sometime late November, so something to keep in mind while knitting away.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll set up a collection closer to the date.

I'm sorry I couldn't stay for the knitting last night - but I am glad I found out about it.

Please let me know of the next get together and I'll post it to the Knitting Meetup, too.

I'm trying to get all the various local knitting gatherings onto the Meetup calendar:

Also, feel free to come to the Revolutionary Knitting Circle. We get together every month on the third Sunday, 2:30pm, at Arusha (106, 223 - 12 Avenue SW). So, this month it's on the 17th.
