Beautiful kimono, I love it a lot.

(Just a side note, Japanese people consider putting chopsticks in the hair pretty rude. Really finnicky about proper etiquette surrounding them.)

I never knew that bit about chopsticks in your hair being rude! Oh my o-o!

But on another note, THAT IS SO LOVELY AND YOU ARE SO AWESOME. You combined cute and beautiful, xD!

If you ever get the chance, please consider a tutorial! I have been wanting to make a kimono forever, but have no idea of how to go about doing that and haven't found a tutorial. Anywho, congrats again!

I plan to sew a kimono myself (but for Halloween)
Did you use a pattern? I bought Butterick's version.
How much did you spend on materials?

that is beautiful, i love the colour. it looks so well made.

and lets here it for wearing original stuff to formals/homecomings... i wore a lace outfit (bought - lazy me) and i stood out.

you might not remember people who went to your homecoming, but i bet for years to come they will be remembering your wonderful outfit.

Kawaii!!!

And on the chopsticks: I was at an enkai one time with sticks in my hair (decorative sticks that didn't look at all like the kind you'd eat with, BTW) and was told by an older male teacher that he liked how they looked... at least I think that's what he was saying.  There was a word in there the English-speaking teachers refused to translate and I'm rather worried it was "tayuu" cuz now I think about it... well, anyway.  Grin

Point is, you can get away with a lot in modern kimono fashion, so chopstick away!  You looked beautiful!
