I signed up.  Grin

The problem with me is that I like so many fairytales that I couldn't decide which three were my favorites.  So I picked the first favorite that came to mind, and then the last two I read.

1. East of the Sun and West of the Moon
2. Iron Hans
3. Prince Ahmed and the Fairy Paribanou

I <3 Project Gutenberg and all the fairytale ebooks you can download from there.

Alice in Wonderland probably doesn't count as a fairy tale, since she dreams the whole adventure.  Great fantasy, though.  Grin

I've signed up.  I can't wait.
I listed my 3 favorite tales as:
The Goose Girl
East of the Sun, West of the Moon,
The Twelve Dancing Princesses

But really, it's so hard to narrow it down.  I have two shelves on my bookshelf dedicated to fairy tales and retellings of fairy tales.

Cool...another East of the Sun, West of the Moon fan.  Though my fairy tale bookshelves are virtual.  Cheesy

I'm so happy that I'm not the only non-Disney fairy tale fan.  It's just not right what they did to some of the perfectly good (though usually not warm and fuzzy) stories.

Hmm. My three were:

Beauty and the Beast (Particularly the Robin McKinley "Beauty", but almost any version makes me happy)

The Tales of 1001 Arabian Nights, particularly Sheherazade, Aladdin

The Phoenix: (http://www.mylocaljukebox.com/phoenix/legends/legends.htm is a good page for nifty phoenix stories)
