Hi everyone,

I used to collect smurfs, and have a box full of them just sitting in the closet. Does anyone have any cool ideas of something I can do with them?

Thanks!

I'm pretty enough for both of us.

I have Farmer Smurf  in my zen sand garden.  It is very much a conversation piece.  I've also started taking a couple on trips and putting them in photos.  It's kind of like that lawn gnome on the tv ad for some travel website.  "Look at Papa Smurf in Vegas.  That's a great view of the Strip."  The nieces love the photos as they play count the Smurfs.

How many Smurfs are we talking about?  They're the 2 inch high rubber/plastic ones, right?

Yes, they're the 2" rubber/plastic smurfs. I have about 40 of them. Your Farmer Smurf/zen garden sounds great. I have a flying trapeze smurf that I hang from my rearview mirror. But I'm trying to figure out something to do with the lot (or at least a few at a time).

One idea I have is to frame them in the thick frames (or deep boxes with glass lids that can be mounted on the wall like frames...I think someone on one of these boards used these to frame plastic bugs). Then I can give some as gifts and keep some. Does anyone have any other ideas what I can do with them?

I was going to suggest your shadowbox idea.  But you could put little scientific looking labels under each one, like they are a scientific specimen.  Or arrange them so they look like a family tree and have the family tree diagram lines and stuff for it too.

Heehee, I love that!  "Papa Smurficus" or whatever...

you should use a dremel and drill little holes in them and hang them from a chain or like a keychain or something....i know i used to have a ton of them when i was little...do you know where you can find more now?

I know it has been a long time since this post, but I was thinking you might be able to make altered smurfs. I know there is someone on deviantart who alters My Little Ponies.

It is a blue and white character from the 80's. It was a cartoon.

In my school there is a nerds club called S.M.U.R.F  I'm a honorary member (lol) but I never knew what a smurf was.
