Buying labels!

I am planning on purchasing some labels for my business, and I have spent a long time looking on different local websites to plan which one to purchase from. But I have a some questions, and who better to ask but all of you!
1) What material would you recommend? satin, polyester, cotton twill, satin cotton, taffeta, or  damask?

2) What finishes do you find best? cut, or end folds?

3) Sew in, iron-on or pressure sensitive backing? (What even is pressure sensitive backing?)

Maybe someone who buy their labels could tell me the type they purchased, and what they think?

i was poking around martha's site the other day, and she sells personalized ribbon with names or dates on it. you could use that and sew it in.

i guess it would depend on what you are putting them in.

i use a combination of iron-on satin (for non-washable things) and sew in cotton twill (for washable).
for each use, they have stood up well.  the sew in cotton also work for me in non-washable things, but my iron-on satin ones don't wash well.

I bought some labels from Heirloom Woven Labels ( http://members.aol.com/heirlooml/ )
They're really basic, woven, sew-on labels. Not necessarily the cheapest but you can get a really small run.
They were very helpful and the labels arrived very fast.
