I can't wait to see what the rest of them look like.  Dunno what I'll make it into... still thinking about it.

Very beautiful! It's going to be hard to follow that one... (Especially consider I personally haven't even started it... Got to finish 4 other projects first!)  Grin

Wow!
How long have you been embroidering Polly?
I just started (like 5 days ago) in an effort to help out Jenny at Sublime Stitching and I ordered some patterns. While I was waiting for them to come, I picked up Aunt Martha's dancing pots and pans patterns at Walmart (not for nothin'... but they are pretty darn cute!) and have been practicing on all my dishtowels and I still need a lot of practice  Undecided
Anyway, you did a super job!

Thanks! My g'ma taught me when I was maybe 7 or 8. I picked it back up 3 years ago after a long hiatus, and there's still so much to learn (and re-learn).

PollyEsther, this is the most beautiful hand embroidery work I have ever seen. Lovely! Beautiful! Amazing! Is there a tutorial on all the different stitches (too lazy too look for it). I might have to start this lovely craft. Once again..........beautiful

This site, which somebody posted in another thread that I can't find now, has one of the best stitch dictionaries I've seen online. But I work mostly out of old thrifted crewel books. The stitches I used for that one are:

Satin stitch
couched satin stitch (for the cuffs and hem)
back stitch
stem stitch
brick stitch
french knots (for the eye and hair clasp)
