50%+ Christmas Gift Challenge

Well Christmas has come and gone, but I actually finished all of my presents! (And instead of 50%, it was much more! I only bought supplies and one tiny thing)

Everything that was completed:

MOM: - "Tur-Jess-les" chocolates (like Turtles)
- Christmas-y cushion from tapestry squares
- Set of Teapot Notecards (I printed off black & white pictures of tea and teapots, coloured with pencil crayons, and added glitter)

DAD: - "Jess-chos" chocolates (like Nutchos) -->  I didn't get a picture in time!
- Handpainted Motorcyle Motor Shirt (eesh) - also at http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=142348.0
- the one bought item! A German & Canadian flags pin

TWO OF MY FRIENDS (each got these)
- red & black (with polka dots!) monogram ornaments (from a Craftster tutorial I can't find right now!)
- handmade infused liquer (Limoncello) with 2 shot glasses each:
   - The liquer with a "Route 69" shot glass (ha):

This is the Winnie the Pooh gecko I made my youngest nephew. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the triangles on  it's back have pictures of classic Winnie the Pooh characters on them.

Well, that was all I was able to get pictures of, I was kind of wrapping and throwing them in the trunk at the same time.    Sorry, the coloring is a little off in some of the pix. I only had a disposable camera to use.

OK, so I am FINALLY back to post the last thing.
The apron and recipe book for my friend (who is also a craftster member, I got her addicted, haha).

First the apron (on me and then all folded/tied up nicely) (it really looks super long, but I am actually super short, hah)

A few pages (I only sent a few recipes, but sent lots of extra precut/holepunched pages for her to add lots of her own recipes, and I put dividers in as well)


Of course I sent some other stuff (like a lipbalm cozy, the standard for all girl gifts, shrinky dink paper, and some other stuff that I can't remember).  Yay.  That's everything!

(The recipe book cover is a good action shot for those other binder covers I posted, that were for my "stepmother")

The patterns for the neckwarmers were from the fall/winter DROPS catalog.  You can see the patterns at www.garnstudio.com
It's my favorite pattern site at the moment!  They have such beautiful projects, but they can be difficult to figure out.  Enjoy it!

Okay, not to add too much filler to this thread, but **swoon**  Thanks for the link to the DROPS patterns!  My heart's all a-flutter over about half of those patterns in the fall/winter book.

Totally forgot to post up here, but here's the results...

Boyfriend: He's turning his old bedroom back home into an office for his video company (he films weddings, little documentaries, commercials, etc.) so I'm making an end table to go between the chairs. It's made from a stack of old film reels with a glass top. I didn't end up doing this one, because I found one of Steven Spielberg's director's chairs on eBay! He freaked over it.

Mom: A quilted and embroidered tree skirt. Finished about a week before Christmas. I didn't wrap it or anything, just put it under the tree and took our old tree skirt out. She noticed it the next day when she was putting some presents under there, and cried.

Dad: Not quite sure yet. I found a very old family photo he'd been looking for, and framed it in a really nice two-hole mat with a newer photo.

Brother: Etched wine glasses (a set of two, with "john" and "meredith" on them).
Came out great.
BIL#1: Etched wine glasses (set of two with "jen" and "greg" on them).
[/color] Same. These two are wine freaks, so they really liked them.
BIL#2: Not sure. Can't stand the man, he's a jackass. But I might do the glasses thing too (and find some subversive way to make the other two better, hahaha). Did the glasses thing, yup.

SIL: Ribbon scarf. Hers was blue. She liked it a lot

Sister #1: A silver necklace (woohoo, art clay!) with her kids' birthstones in it. She loved this and has been wearing it every time I've seen her since.

Sister #2: Ribbon scarf. Hers was purple, and she loved it too.

Nephews #1 & 2: Cardinals throw pillows. The fringe-y type; I don't like those very much, but they do, and they're redoing their room since the World Series Finished! They got so much Cards stuff, their room will look like Busch Stadium.

Niece #1: A Hello Kitty fleece blanket. She started singing the Hello Kitty theme song.

Best friend #1: Ribbon scarf, Infinity dress and "Bollywood Star" tea from Herb & Ginger. Got the tea and the stuff for the scarf, but I ran out of time, so it's going to be a "just because" present instead.

Best friend #2: Handmade polka-dotted wallet with "Ebichu the Housekeeping Hamster" embroidered on. Ebichu turned out really well!

Other female friends: Ribbon scarves. Made three more. They liked them a lot; one likes it better as a belt, though.

Male friends: Cookies (made-from-scratch gingerbread or Tollhouse chocolate chip, in cute jars). They ate them right away, of course.

Fibers class friends: Gingerbread cookies shaped like sewing machines. They, and my teacher, thought they were adorable. I also made an Apple logo cookie for my VisCom professor.

Poo.... I never thought to take pics. Ah well. I finished all my stuff Christmas eve. I had forgotten to craft for one of the nephews! But the best was my niece loved the mini Seraphina shawl I made her and wore it all night! That was her favorite present.

OK here's my update.  I didn't think to take any pictures (bad craftster!  bad!  go to your corner!)... and a lot of my gifts were sorta lame (burned CDs!?!)

I do know that I barely *bought* anything... although there were a lot of found items given.

Whew! Sorry I haven't replied earlier, I've been pretty busy.
I updated the first post with alllll the people who finished.
I read all the posts and looked at all the pictures... I was COMPLETELY blown away by everything! You ladies/guys(?) are amaaaazing Craftsters! *applause*
Give yourselves a pat on the back!
And look out, because I'm going to come and steal everything for myself!!!

I don't even know where to start, but all the pics were amazing! This ended up way bigger than I'd thought it would be. Next This year, I mean, LOL, I'll start it again October 1st. So keep an eye out!

I finished most of the stuff I was making, except for the How To Use Technology book. LOL. I'm probably going to save that for Christmas 2007. I ended up doing burned CD's too! Picture me sneaking downstairs at 11 PM on Christmas Eve with the last wrapped presents. I had a couple of nasty accidents (me + coffee table + darkness = pain... me + dining room chair = pain... me + dining room table = pain... Miracle I didn't wake everyone up, really!!! )
But everyone loved everything!
This year, I'm starting now!
