Ooh. I did something like that last year, and am trying to again!

I do everyone on my list gets at least part of their present homemade.... I'm not sure if it's always 50% (it's a hard thing to figure!), but I am trying to increase it this year!

I'll join in... and... well.. estimate my numbers Smiley

i think pretty much all my presents for people are going to be handmade this year, i don't have much money cause i had to cut my hours down because i'm too pregnant and my legs swell up too much for me to be doing much, so i can make things better than i can walk around shopping, so i think everyone is getting things i make.

I have some people that are kinda hard to craft for so I plan on making them a stocking to fill up with store bought gifts. At least I'll get to make something.

and I want to make some Christmas crackers for my British MIL tute is on this site.
http://notmartha.org/tomake/partycracker.html
My DH grew up with them and I'd like to reintroduce it.

This is a great idea.. I'm trying to planout my list.. so far I have:

Mom - cute seasonal hangy thing(in addition to buying her something)
Aunt - Patchwork purse
Friends - felt stocking ornaments with a personalized ornament inside
Sister - *She's lurking here for some Christmas present ideas - edited for her own good ^_^*
Brother - pillow with trading cards on one side(I'm going to try this.. make a regular pillow, then add those trading card slot papers and put some Yugioh cards in)
Dad - decorated fishing lures

Have fun everyone!  Post your progress! Smiley

Why do we play with fire?
Why do we run our finger through the flames?
Why do we leave our hand on the stove,
although we know we're in for some pain?

What a great idea!
I'm going to tentatively join in- depends on how much I get made fun of if I flake out and leave everything til the last minute and have to buy things.  (Which has obviously never happened to me, especially not every single year ever:D)

Last year I made purses for my mom and sister (using the Jordy tutorial from this site, actually!)  They liked them, or pretended to, which suits me.  I also made some pingu-style tree ornaments for friends, using about three bucks worth of felt altogether- and people went ape.  Funny how the expensive fabric hours of labour purses got mild reaction, and everyone went hog wild ape for budget pingu...
Why here they are right now...

Great idea. This year for my family/friends/Mr M I'm going to...

Make each of them something
Buy each of them a handmade item from etsy
Also buy each of them something from the store that I know they want

I'm having fun with my planning! Cheesy
