Inspired by the tie-dyed prom dress  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=116563.0 and using the lolita dress tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77268.0 (which was insanely helpful, as I couldn't find a pattern I liked that actually fit me) I made my dress for homecoming.  Please excuse the crappy pics, as we used a cheap disposable camera and there was no light in the gym.

It's sad that the best picture of the dress is one of my bum, and that I am making an incredibly weird face in it.  Of course my boyfriend took that picture without telling me. Sigh.

It's pretty! Did you tie dye it yourself? Or did the fabric some that way?
The colours are lovely! Smiley

Thank you so much!!!  Grin

I bought the fabric as it currently is from Jo Ann Fabrics.  It was expensive, but quite nice.  It made me happy just seeing it on the bolt.   Cheesy

That is really pretty, Crazy Girl! Would it happen to have an asymetrical hem? It looks that way in your last pic.

Also, your hair was gorgeous. Such curls look so nice in long hair!

Thanks.   Cheesy

It doesn't have an asymmetrical hem.  It just looks like that because, with the princess seaming, the fullness is unevenly divided around the skirt.  So it looks a little off.  Which makes sense, as in the tutorial, it's supposed to have a petticoat under it to support it.  But I loved how swishy it was without one.
