Squee!!!!!! I made my bear last night! He's blue and his head is misshapen and i sewed his arms on at different angels cause i was watching RENT (again!) while I was doing it! It took longer than I expected but it was worth it 'cause he's SO cute! THough he looks kind of like a mouse and i'm considering giving him some wee whiskers...
Thanks SO much for the pattern, I'm thinking all my friends are getting bears for Xmas!!

Paperdaisies, I love the blue mutant bear you crafted!  It's totally original, and so very adorable Cheesy  Nice work!

I checked out the pattern for your bear and my guess is that the little vee shaped cutouts are meant to function as darts (or something like that) to help give the head and nose pieces some added dimension.  I would stitch up the vee shaped areas by folding it at the vertex and seaming it.  The vee shaped areas should probably be done before seaming up the nose and head pieces together.  That's my guess anyhow Cheesy

loves2experiment, i've just finished the bear and i thought the vs were darts as well, but then after sewing them up before attaching the head peices together, i found that they're actually just slots for th ears. Be careful putting the head together by the way, because i screwed it up at least 5 times before i got the nose peice in the right place and in the right direction, lol. So good luck on your bear!

I think I will update/modify this topic to say that there is a pattern here...

sexy_penguin_, I wish i could see your bear! I kinda forced the nose-piece in place;D, I had a lot of experience forcing fabric and felt to line up better from making a patchwork quilt once (still unfinished, the fun stuff has been done I just need to actually get it quilted!) I'm not sure its a recommended technique! Oh and did you finish your amish puzzle ball? My aunt just asked me to make one for her for xmas to use as a pincushion! Yay!

loves2experiment, aww thanks! I thought they might have been darts but in the end I reckoned that at the size I was making it they didnt really matter anyway. And I did sorta use them as the place to sew the ears on.

gyouko, that's ok! I'd love to see your bunny!
sarahpanda, hehe, that wouldl be pretty fun! You could make little mini buddies for your unfortunare animals too!
