October 2006 Birthday Swap

I recieved my package from homerof2!!  There were two crochet books and I must say I am very excited about the one called  "A to Z afghan".  Each block corresponds to a letter and a certain stitch - lots of practice for a nube like me!! The other is a very nice doily pattern book and I think I might use some of the centres for snowflakes for my tree!  And then there were beads too!  My favourites were the turquoise ones!!  Thanks so much homerof2 you made my day!!  (Pictures to follow)

I have the A to Z afghan book! It's great. If you're really new, I'd suggest trying one with out front or back post crochet to start. I made my second and third afghans out of that book.

Today I received from Eirle - This is part of what I wrote to her:

Today hubby and I got home from the doctor, to discover a box sitting in front of our door. I thought "Cool, what is it?"...I took it inside and tried opening it. Took nearly ten minutes to find scissors and to open the box without ripping it (I'm a chronic recycler, after all). Inside I find 2 wrapped birthday gifts, and a card. Coolness, I am excited! I open the first wrapped gift (leaving the card for last, as indicated on the envelope!). OMG!!!!! Season 2 of "Numb3rs" on DVD  I shreik! Hubby asks whats wrong. I say "Not wrong, Right!! So F-ing cool!!!". Hubby grins I proceed to wrapped gift #2, open it to find not one, but 2 "Numb3rs" CalSci T-shirts!!!! I shriek again! Hubby is barely controlling his laughter now. Nods and comments how awesome everything is. Then I proceed to the envelope. I open it up, and read the back (only because it is what was facing me). I turn it over, read what it says, and start shrieking again! Hubby is laughting out loud now. Next I open the card, and read what is written - about how David Krumholtz singed a birthday card to me! Here's where I start crying...LOTS. I spend the next 1/2 hour crying tears so such amazing joy, with hubby hugging me and telling me that this birthday will NEVER be beat.
