Sounds good. I've heard of Grapevine, but where exactly is it? I don't think I've been to that city much.

www.mapquest.com

it's good for giving you a rough idea of where something it - before I deside on a long trip I always check it out - helps me deside if it's worth going (talking goat shows here <g>)

i use mapquest for everything! grapevine is like 35 min away from plano.

Hey all! Saturnine here. I had a great time, despite the fact that I came late and had to leave early. Undecided Thank you to everyone for your generosity and kindness. Not to mention how silly and fun you guys are. I laughed so much! Love, love, love the GORGEOUS earrings from fractalash, jshires, and OY and the sweet felted cherries from RM. You guys are talented! Next time I will definitely get clued into this sooner and will bring something to share.

Can't wait for the next meet up. Very impressed with the variety of crafts represented and the fact that you are all so open and eager to share your knowledge. Thanks again Grin

Oh, good!  That beautiful lady on the top left is Saturnine!   Cheesy  Such a joy...and she has the greatest crafted things!

Also, Poor katie_ramone9's family!  Ack!  Hate the getting lost part!  But she DID have the most fabulous tailored & lined jacket on that she sewed herself!!!  It was beyond belief!

And I did lurve all the ATCs that goatgoddess and originalyouth brought to show...they are even more outrageously awesome in person than they are on-line!  (The atc's I mean...well, I guess the PEOPLE are too!  Ha-ha!)

Thanks for all the great swaps again, guys!

Later,
RM

RecycleMicol - you do not look like a frog in that pic - but I would say that pic doesn't show just how cute and vivacious you are.

Yes, and I will add that she is NOT flat chested either, she has nice perky ta-tas!  Tongue  (We are good pals, so she will think that is funny!)  (hopefully).

KatieRamone, SO sorry about your long drive, ugh!  I DO vote for Grapevine next time, for a middle zone.  That jacket WAS amazing, I concur!

It seems that after our super quick knitting lessons yesterday (thank you RM!) in other meetups we want to do:
-a supply swap, (everyone brings excess and trades for stuff they need)
-a quicky sewing tips demo (KatieR and RM)
-maybe an ATC/Altered book demo night (GG and OY)
-Jewelry (Fractalash, JShires)
-Calligraphy (RM and OY)
-Magnets and ....(Saturnine) whatever else she had....I didn't get to see. Sad
-Felting (RM)
-Polymer clay wonders (OY)
-???

What else, chicas?  I think we should pick 2 things to learn/share about each time, so we don't bring a TON of absolute randomness each time.  We also don't have to swap gifts each time, cause that was like a sweatshop swap!  I should've given us all a swap record for it!  If we decide to do it again, we shall!  Maybe do a one item, chinese christmas swap at an event!

So, when's the next get-together?  Smiley  Do we want to shoot for another Saturday late afternoon in November?
My vote is for one of these 2 days:  November 18th, or Dec. 9th.

Now, Talk amongst yourselves...

I can do either one unless any family issues come up to spoil it.  My hubby is just so proud for me...he finally gets it that I actaully FOUND crafty people like me out there!!!

(My whole life I've felt like Gonzo on Muppets From Space!)

Funny?  Yes.  BIG HA-HA!

*goes off to crawl under a rock!*

Kiss  Just kidding...I'm flattered!

And OY looks so much more beautiful in real life than in her photos!!!  She is TALL and TRIM!  (I'm short & dumpy!)

Laters,

WHATEVER!  She looked like a perky pretty petite lady off for the day having tea!  While we were just knitting and swapping and getting stares from the people in the mall food court!

Oh you're too kind...only Fractalash knows the TRUTH!!!  (She begged me to show her my oral surgeon's handiwork!)  Sorry, Frac...hope you don't have any nightmares due to that!   Tongue

RM

P.S.  Here is my new HERO! http://myhouseiscuterthanyours.blogspot.com/2005/06/home-on-range-apron.html I simply adore this woman's garb!  (Her Flickr photos and Recipe sections are the BEST!!!  She runs an apron swap, too...but you must have a blog to get in.  She also makes 'vintage' recipes and takes photos of them.  Super-fun!!!)

I vote December 9 and we can do holiday ornaments for trade.

Grapevine is a great central location and it's actually on my way to work (I live in east Dallas, but work in Southlake).  I told my folks today that they weren't allowed to have any more emergencies on craftster meet up days!

By the way, RM, I have some specially made pumpkin spice sugar rub for you.  I can save it for the next meetup so you'll have something to look forward too.  Recipe comes with it.

OOooo!!!  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!!!!  Pumpkin spice sugar rub = heaven!!!!

I guess I'll have to wait until November to get it!  Can hardly wait!  Now I'll have to make you something special, too.  I gave all my swap stuff out...didn't want to take any of it back home.  Oh, man...I can smell the pumpkin spice now just thinking about it!!!  (It's no wonder my daughter was conceived in November!  Ha-ha!  I know...I know!  Too much information!  Ha-ha!)

Bless you, SC!!!
