Hello, My daughter is turning 13 Shocked Oct. 16th and I am stuck for ideas on what to make her. She is always complaining that everything I make is for my 6 yr old. I have looked through my patterns but nothing screams make me. She usually likes what I make but I want to make her something she can wear to school or something. I have made her blankets, ponchos hats and scarfs so I am looking for something diff.

I'm 17 and the things I like to make for myself are mp3 player/cell cozy, hats w/ ears, wrist warmers, purse/tote, scarf out of fun fur, and an alphabet pillow ( http://www.wovenspun.com/alphapillow/alphapillow.htm )

Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.

My current craft project: crochet domokun doll.

How about a felted-wool bag in her favorite colors? (Or does felting only work with knitted items?)

my first thought was something along the lines of wristwarmers or fingerless mittens/gloves.

How about leg warmers? You could make the shrug to go along with them or the arm warmers to go along with the shrug. Just an idea. Legwarmers seem to be popular this year with the younger girls. Smiley

I have a great book by SweaterBabe.com calledFabulous and Flirty Crochet.  It has an adorable flutter sleeve top that would be really cute and not little kiddish.  I have been dying to try it, but havent' had the time yet. This is the link to it on amazon.  one of the pictures is of the top...it's purple.

How about a lined make-up/pencil bag. You could use a pretty stitich pattern or graph the logo of her favorite band or even her initials.
