Yes, please don't merge. I'm positive I have something to offer there [venting thread]. How about an ATC based on frustrating won't-come-to-me ATCs? Angry  ARRRRRggghhhh.

This odd noise brought to you curtesy of the 4 horsemen of the apocalyse, thankyouverymuch. Roll Eyes

Here's some more Frida cards, for your amusement.
I had to make 3 more, since some of my first batch of 3 are getting published, I didn't want to swap them away!

First, I painted some Fridas...really loose and not exact (I didnt have a reference pic to look at)...

Then, gave them an acetate overlay.  Sequins, stamping, stickers, and ribbons....markers outlining the 'important' parts...lips, brows, eyes...and I made tiny necklaces that are attached only on the sides, so they dangle...

You can see the glazing I did on it, as well as some of the gold vine stamping.

And, assembled:

The acetate is attached only on one side, on the back, so you can flip it up to see just the painted part.

What do you think?  They are Frida-ish, but not exact...I couldn't capture her mystical face, I guess.  Smiley  Do you think they look like Frida enough?

P.S. Thanks to Selise for the tiny heart stickers and clear acetate!

They are surely Frida! Frida herself said she could never actually capture herself on canvas. You did a fine job of interpreting.

Okay, so they are Frida-enough?  I know you know Frida, ARoze...
Now you guys see why I don't paint people much, I have no natural knack for it!

Thanks PJ.  They each look like her, but none were spot on, IMO.

While they might not physically look like her, they FEEL like her. I think that matters.

You are most welcome...

That is one thing about iconic figures...its often about the feeling they invoke rather than the strict appearance of their figure. Does that make sense?
