hey everyone - question for other swap organizers out there:

first of all, when do you mark someone's feedback as COMPLETE?  do you do it when their package is received by their partner?  or when they are finished sending and receiving?  i ask because once their package has been received by their partner, their obligation is done, even if the rest of the swap is complete.  what are your thoughts?

as a second question, or maybe an addendum to the first, when do you put your own (as organizer) feedback as COMPLETE?  When everyone's received and all other feedback has been given?  What about when you've already sent?

Here's my problem - i am organizing two swaps and participating in three others.  i have sent for one of the swaps i'm organizing and one that i'm not, and the packages have both been received.  i would like to sign up for more swaps, and feel that i can handle finishing organization on the swap i've sent for as well as a brand new swap.  ...hopefully that all makes sense.  so what do i do?  just wait until all the swap activity is done for the ones i'm organizing?  is it legal to mark myself as complete, since i've already sent my package for the swap i'm organizing?

any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated...

for the one you are organizing, i think that as long as your partner has recieved from you, you should be ok to give yourself feedback. I could be wrong, i'll let someone else give you another answer, you might even want to ask the help desk b/c then a swap mod will answer you directly

If you are the organizer, and your partner has received, it's fine to give yourself feedback.  Smiley

for swap participants, i wait until they've both sent AND received, because if they don't tell me they've received, that's gonna go into their feedback as poor communication.

In a swap I organized I had some issues with a swapper and was concerned that they might not inform me when they received (from me) even though the swapper had sent out. So I was considering witholding their postive. I asked in the help desk and was told to give feedback since she had met the requirements for a postive feedback.

In the current swap I'm organizing I had a number of people who had met their sending requirements and therefore had their postive feedback, not tell me at all that they had received from their partners. I simply went in and changed their postive feedback comments to reflect their crap communication. The ability to change the comments after changing the status for the swap is useful.

I posted my feedback as complete as if I was just another swapper -- as soon as my partners received, I had my postive.

Now what if you are organizing but not participating?

I'm organizing for the first time but it's a first timers swap so I don't plan on participating (I've already been in five swaps!) so I don't think I get feedback...or do I?  I'm a little confoosled.

You do give yourself feedback, but put a note in there saying "Organizer; did not swap".   Smiley
