Hey all..

Learned this one back in the old hippy days in Boston...

It's like a granny pattern, but,

1.--you crochet a chain long enough to go around your shoulders..

2.  Double crochet 3 times (to make a petal) in every 4th chain til the end.

3.  then Double crochet a petal (3 double crochets)  in every "space" thereafter...

Makes an automatic triangle..... looks real nice in DK weight.. or Sirdar silky look..

Sorry for the totally moronic simplicity of this pattern.. any clarification I will gladly help with!! email me if you'd like.. I will take some pics today..

I want to try this pattern and I started it last night but it didn't look right, I feel stupid for asking but could you explain the following rows a little better? I went into the next space but wasn't sure where to go at the end of rows and such. Mine didn't look like it was get smaller or whatever it's supposed to do as you go.

I'm in the process of making one using this pattern right now. After I finish, which might be sometime tomorrow or so, I'll post my results. ^^ I'm just into the third row or so now, and it looks fine.

you just keep crocheting the 3 double crochets into each space...like this..(I hope you understand the way I've wrote it out. The "DC" stands for double crochet..and the blanks are for where the spaces are. The CH is the chain..) You just follow the pattern like this.

     CH----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        DC DC DC ___ ___ ___ DC DC DC ___ ___ ___ DC DC DC ___ ___ ___  DC DC DC
DC   DC   DC                DC     DC  DC                DC  DC   DC
DC DC DC                     DC DC DC
                                                           DC DC  DC

See how it decreases itself?

I hope that kind of helped. You don't do anything extra for each row like normal patterns do (yanno, the ch 2 or 3 or 4 or anything..you just start in the next space and continue the double crochets.)

=P

At the end of the rows, I just turned it and did the 3 double crochets in the next space..and then continued. Thats all there is to it. I'll try to explain it like I did before..

DC DC DC ________ DC DC DC _______ DC DC DC _______ DC DC DC ________ DC DC DC
these DCs are the end of
the row. All you do is turn and do
the next 3 DCs in the space. Like  so...

DC DC DC ________ DC DC DC _______ DC DC DC _______ DC DC DC ________ DC DC DC
                                                                                                   DC DC DC

And then you just continue the pattern with the rows..
DC DC DC ________ DC DC DC _______ DC DC DC _______ DC DC DC ________ DC DC DC
DC DC DC                 DC DC DC             DC DC DC               DC DC DC
DC DC DC                 DC DC DC            DC DC DC
                                          DC DC DC                 DC DCDC
                                                        DC DC DC
