I just found this website:
http://www.clover.co.jp/hand/
I just need help on some of the crochet symbols.
I know an 'x' is a single crochet, but what is and 'x' over a 'v' or an 'x' over a 'v' with a line through it.
I really want to make the purse at the bottom of this page

But I'm having trouble reading the pattern. Where do you start on this thing? I'm not really sure if it goes from right to left or left to right.
Any help would be great!

Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.

My current craft project: crochet domokun doll.

I really like Daphne's tutorial page for crochet abbreviations, sybols, and even instructions and diagrams. It can be found here:

Hope this helps!
