I am planning a big Day of the Dead party for next month and just got the invitations out in the mail.  Thought I'd share with everyone.  I took an 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock and printed on the inside an explanation of what the day of the dead is, and all the party particulars.  Then I folded each piece of paper in half horizontally. Next I cut about a zillion papel picado and glued one on the front of each.  I am really pleased with how they turned out!

I did!

I will be posting more decorations are they are finished.  I am also making a skull shaped pinata, a small papier mache skull for our ofrenda (altar), and paper flowers.

Amaryllisroze, I have looked at your wedding pictures several times.  Thanks for sharing those!

This is so super creative and cool! I want to have a party with this theme in my dorm room. My roommate and are going to steal your invite idea. Hopefully I can get a new cord for my digi-cam and share pics of what we come up with.

Your invitations and papel picado are very nice.  I'm imagining a room filled with all that bright paper hanging about.

Coincidentally, as I type this, I am waiting for the third layer of MY skull pinata to dry.  Hope you post more photos of your work.
