The old roomie/suit mates claimed that it was a movie for little kids and refused to watch it. Then again they did diss Dirty Dancing, Gone With the Wind, Rent, The Producers and a lot of other great movies. We are having a Laby movie night in two weeks!!!

you could always inform them that those kind of movies have been used in university classes to help understand movement, pop culture and different forms of human nature.  I don't think that would be considered kid stuff.

I'd hardly call Labyrinth a "kid movie."  Family, perhaps.  Kid, no.  It's one of those rare gems that appeals to everyone somehow...like Neverending Story or Mirrormask.

Rather, it's one of those rare gems that appeals to anyone who likes "oddball movies" (as the guy at FYE called them when I came up to the counter with their only copy of the Labyrinth Soundtrack).

If only I had the money for the soundtrack.  But, alas, I am a poor, broke college theatre student. I might have to guilt trip the parents into getting it for me.  Ah, well...enough procrastinating, I have midterms I should be studying for.

I cannot believe it. I want to rent the movie, and wouldn't you know it, it was gone!  :oThe guy at blockbuster even said, woah, I can't believe it! Figgers. Whoever has it give it back!

Seriously considering this one.... I loooove that movie.  When I first moved in with my hubby, we had no cable and just watched movies all the time.  Labyrinth (no the in the title) was the one I would watch most of the time, and we had quite a few.  It got to the point where I'd turn the TV on, he'd say "what are you going to watch?" I'd say "a movie", then he'd ask "does it have muppet goblins?" and I would say "yeah".
