I wanted to join the Miyazaki swap but got in too late Sad

But I decided to make something anyway which I'm sending as a gift to a friend.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out  Grin

So, here's a picture of my Kodama Tote:

and the lining:

I put more pictures on my blog if you want to see the in-progress shots. Smiley

The purse looks great. I love Princess Mononoke! Where did you get the  fabric that you used for the lining?

Bento. Fashion. Crafts.

That lil guys is so darn cute. I better be careful or he will end up being tattooed on me... like this lil feller that looks a bit like him. Im a sucker for cuteness. Great bag!

i made the lining myself  Grin  i love patterned linings, i think they make ordinary items quite special..  i drew the kodama in photoshop and then printed out a pageful onto iron-on transfer paper, then cut them up and arranged them on the plain lining.  the recipient won't be able to iron the lining but i don't think it's a big deal, and the teflon coated outer fabric is pretty much creaseproof.

if you like i can send you the gif file i drew for a single trio of kodama, i cut and pasted this into word to print out a page full but im sure there are better ways of doing it, i just didnt know how.

i just wanted to add - this is the first tote i've ever made, my first iron on, and my first try at applique.  so i am totally over the moon with how it's turned out, it's the very first time i've ever made anything that ended up looking exactly as it did in my imagination.   Grin

in case anyone wanted to use it, here's the gif for the original trio of kodama:

and here's a glimpse of a whole page full of them Grin

eta: if you do use the gif for anything, id love to see what you make with it..

I really love it.  I have been planning to make a kodama and leave it in the woods.
