This is a child's size hat that I made. ( hence the fact that it is too small for me)







I didn't use a pattern...more a formula based on general head sizes. I'm not 100 percent happy with the job done because I should have done the ribbing in a needle size smaller....and I know better!
Oh well..next time.

What? The ribbing should be done in a smaller needle? I didn't know this! I too am doing a hat based on the hat calculator someone posted a link to. I'm using #8 needles, I think, with a 16" cord.

Would it have been better if I used a smaller needle for the ribbing?

Not necessarily..but with this hat, way back when I had a few rows only..I knew I was getting a loose ribbing.
