I made this panta (I guess that's what it is; you could also call it a headband) for an old friend who I haven't seen in a long time.  I figure the colors should go with her hair.  She's either blond or dyed reddish now.

I don't know if you can tell, but it gets narrower at the sides, under the ears, and underneath it's just four rows of dark blue sc. This panta reminds me of the ocean.  Can anyone tell me what panta really means?

I love it! The wavy pattern is very nice! I think it will go well with any color of hair.

Wow, that's great!  I love the waviness.  How'd you get it to taper inwards?--I'm trying to puzzle it out and I just can't.  *newbie*

Thanks for the replies.  I liked the headband so much myself I made another one for not giving away.

I used a different pattern for a more geometric repeat instead of waves.  To taper the ends, for both panta/headbands no. 1 and 2, I just didn't make the 'swell' at the end of the middle rows.  By replacing the 'thick' stitches with sc, the piece naturally tapers down. It also makes the headband curve a little.

Thanks for reading this post!

Is it just singles, doubles and triples alternating in different rows?  It is sooooo amazing!!!

Those are alot more interesting than the plain headbands I usually make.  Please do post instructions.  Please, please?

Panta means headband in Finnish, if I'm not mistaken. It says so in the original Panta thread.  Wink
