I've just obtained a giant load of tons of random stuff, pretty much all vintage, paper, photos, ads, stamps, and some misc. doo-dads.  I am planning on making some crazy colleges probably on canvas with them.  Has any one done this type of mixed media type of deal and have any suggestions before I get started??  I was mostly inspired to give this type of work a try by that guy that did the Green Day insomniac cd cover ... darn it why can't I think of his name.  Anyway the first topic I have to collage is a feminist type of "I am not a household appliance" angry housewife thing ... hmm might have something to do that I am dying of boredom in my house after relocating to a new "city", Charlotte, NC - from NY.  Oh well.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Steph

you might want to check out www.rusticstains.com for ideas...she's a mixed media artist.  i do altered collage on canvas ...the suggestions i'd have is to figure out what glue you prefer to work with (ie:golden, etc).  i know that's not a lot of help, but if you have specific questions, i might be able to answer....
