Oh yeah I love the styles and the layers etc...
But, I could never make one.
Not with my machine and certainly not by hand like they did  Smiley

nonsense, hookin - you could do it!  Besides, you'd probably just be altering something that was your mom's or sister's anyway - the original recon! Smiley

Sorry I've been gone so long. Am trying to get back on the boards. Body's thrown me for a few loops these past months and am still learning to adjust. Thanks for your patience.

they also had poeple to do it for them.  Well, at least the rich ones did.

I can't imagine sew, knitting, playing piano, singing, painting, dancing, knowing latin (and other languages) all to a very high degree.

I am so glad I was born in 1975 instead of 1775 or 1875  Wink

I have watched those shows on ETV where they make the family go and live like they did back then. the teenagers were going crazy by the end of the 1st week lol
But, I can't say that I blame them.
Now, as far as going to visit...
Come visit me here in Mississippi where we have all of the civil war and pre-civil war plantations that have tours. All the people that work there dress up and play the part of the people that once lived in those homes.
We also have civil war reinactments on a weekly babses here.
It only took one time for them to "tie" me into one of those dresses with the hoop skirt etc for a pic that I decided I would never do it again  Wink
