Angel, feel free to be as imaginative as you like with the journal - I plan to bind mine myself - as long as it's between A4 and A6 in size, and reasonably sturdy to withstand the postal service.  It could be landscape or portrait, square or even round if that floats your boat!  There are some very imaginative tutorials on here about binding, and it's really a lot easier than I thought, comes down to working neatly and following instructions.

I think i'm going to pee everyone and maybe send a water colour pad around. I like watercolour paper at the minute, and not necessarily for watercolours!
Does there have to be a specific amount of pages in the book? I can't remember reading if there was.

I love watercolour paper so that's fine by me!

No specific page numbers, but you must ensure that there is at least a double page spread for each person in the round-robin. Of course that depends on how many sign up... Undecided...but there'll be no more than 6 in any one group so as long as that's covered it'll be fine.

Yes a minimum of 6 double-page spreads would be good - that's what I plan to do; if the group is smaller than that it will allow an energetic person to do more than one if they want to, otherwise I will do the blank pages when the journal comes home.

Okay, I'm off to Egypt for 2 weeks so I won't be around to answer questions. I will leave you in Stephens very capable hands.

Don't forget to copy me in any pm's so I can catch up when I get back!

Having just signed up I thought i would having a bash at making my own journal (always wanted to try this) so after taking Stephen's advice about searching for tutorials, I have made an A5 landscape japanese bound (uncovered) journal with cream coloured inner pages and burgundy facing pages.

Im going to stick a short message on the front with my likes/dislikes, the name of the swap etc and include a silver pen so that everyone who receives it can sign & date the back page.

Cant wait to see what every one does!
