Hi, I'm new here (after lurking for ages!)

I'm not sure how to post pics so I hope this works?

Sharing my first Altered Barbie (I hope!)

GREAT site you have here  Wink It has inspired me to Alter my desk, which I'm in the middle of right now!

Right will try and do this pic thing!

Thanx  Smiley

I completly re-painted her, cut her hair and dyed it, made new clothes, added wire and bead jewellery etc. etc.

She is completly different now.  I have before pics as well, but I didn't post those.

I'm glad you like her.

It's a mixture of things stuck in that poor woman!  Grin  I'd never done it before and I didn't like the colours that were coming out, so I just kept adding to them.

First I tried pink hair wax, then felt pens!, then food colour and lastly watered down paint!!! which I combed out when it dried and did it again and combed out etc.

The hair was sort of a happy mistake!  Embarrassed

The best thing I've personally found for coloring wigs is sharpie pens. I don't know if this works on what they use in barbie hair, though.

I really love the clothes... such a nice use of texture! The eyes kinda weird me out, though, but that's more of a personal preference thing.

This is such an awesome doll. I love fairies!! Great job! Also just wanted to let ya'll know what my sister and I used to use to color Barbie's hair....Kool-Aid (without the sugar of course)  It always worked great...Still have one of the green haired ones.  (hmmm...looking back, we were a little destructive with Barbie. oh well  Roll Eyes)
