I applied to London college of printing a few years back
i really wanted to go there, but they just made us leave our
portfolios and come back in 4hrs.
Then we all took them back and went home.
It was horrible not being able to talk about your work.
I didn't get in and i was so upset but i got an
unconditional offer to another uni so that was good.
Its hard work getting into good uni's in London to do Graphics
Now i have got My BA in graphics and have just set up my own
business. I am considering doing a part time MA but i don't
know where to do it.
Hope you get to the Uni you want just supply them with loads of
sketch pads as well, Uni's love that they like seeing how you get
to the final idea and your thought process no matter how messy.

They laugh at me because I'm different.
I pity them because they're all the same.

Good for you i live in London (born and bred) i went to a London uni and
I found they were stretching the name tutors! I taught myself everything i know.
At least 3 tutors regularly relied on me in class to help teach!
I was the youngest student as well as they only excepted people who had
done a foundation but i decided to apply anyway without one and they let me in.
So every one was a year or more older. Anyway i managed to scrape through
and get my BA Hons Smiley
Hope you have a good time where ever you go and get more out of it than i did.

quite a few people from my school went to art college in london (st martins, london fashion, city and guilds, chelsea, etc) but most of them went on an art foundation first. it's virtually impossible to get in with simply a-levels onto a straight degree programme. it also helps you build up your portfolio. they weren't especially talented and they didn't get particularly fantastic a-level grades (probably averaging with a few b's or maybe the odd bcc) so I think you should probably have a notebook with loads of blub/mission-statement-esque stuff. I dont think hardly any of them were interviewed, just dropped off the portfolio (though do this in person as someone nearly lost their work due to complete incompetence of one art college).

my irregularly updated blog.
