I'm going to be starting a thread very soon for my House Haunt '06 Extravaganza, but in the mean time, I'll post some friendly advice.

Become familiar with this website. http://www.halloweenmonsterlist.info/ This site will never steer you wrong.  It links to countless how-to's for massive Halloween decorations.  I can tell you many a good idea for my home has come from here, and even if you don't want to do any of the projects, they can easily inspire you to find better.

Learn it, live it, love it.  Now let's go scare some trick or treaters.

Holy crap. That website rocks! All the more motivating to get out of apartment living! Aw...someday I will send children crying to their mothers....

We love Halloween but don't go all out yet.  Here's some pics:
This is our ghost made from an old wedding veil, mostly sentimental to us.

These are our paper mache head things.  We are going to put a few hanging up with sheets flowing out.

Our spooky corner:

if you look closely enough, above the bright ladder you can see our bats. we made the stand out of plumbing pipes, i think, that we spray painted black so they wouldnt stand out so much in the dark. it had two "arms" that the bats hung off of and when we turned them on, their eyes lit up and they made noise and flew in little circles.

i made this myself. its a styrofoam head wrapped in toilet paper. i stabbed a knife in there and then poured "blood" (a mix of corn syrup, red and green food color) by it for the wound. stuck it in a cape. hung it from a noose. cool, huh?

neighborhood boy and caution tape around the front of the house.

little ghosts hanging from the front trees.

if you look closely enough, above the bright ladder you can see our bats. we made the stand out of plumbing pipes, i think, that we spray painted black so they wouldnt stand out so much in the dark. it had two "arms" that the bats hung off of and when we turned them on, their eyes lit up and they made noise and flew in little circles.

i made this myself. its a styrofoam head wrapped in toilet paper. i stabbed a knife in there and then poured "blood" (a mix of corn syrup, red and green food color) by it for the wound. stuck it in a cape. hung it from a noose. cool, huh?

you can see the blood better here. oh yea and there's a little skeleton man in the ground.

skeleton from the window

giant 3-foot spider on his web. oh and by the bottom is one of the many sets of blinky eyes we had in the bushes and windows.

some fog from our fog machine. i dont have a picture but we made a fog cooler out of and old plastic box. we cut a ihole in either side ofthat and attached a bendy-tube with holes bunched in it to let fog out to one and the opening of the fog machine to the other. filled the box with ice, i think, maybe dry ice. the fog would go through it and cool (so it'd stay low to the ground) and then through the long tube so that it wouldnt all be coming out of one place. i hope that makes sense. ? Oh man, i wonder what my dad would say if he knew i was leaking all his secrets!!  Lips sealed

my jackolanterns

lit up

and just for kicks, thats me in costume with my glow in the dark eye makeup, pink hair spray, devil horns, and boa. woot!  Grin

so ok, now that you can see them, you like!??!
