I don't have pictures, but will try to explain it the best I can!  Let me know if anything needs clarification.

The first thing I did was cut out a template for the back, front, and sides of the bed (out of a brown paper bag).  That way I got a rough idea how big I wanted it, and what the curves would look like.  I traced the templates on 3/4 inch plywood and cut them out, along with a rectangle for the bottom.  I put them together with wood glue and screws, and attached ball feet in the four corners with screws.

I used my templates again to cut out quilting batting, and covered the insides and outsides of the front, back, and sides, and stapled that in place with a staple gun.  Just be sure to cut about an inch larger all around your templates to allow for stapling.

Then I used my templates to cut out fabric (again, allowing enough for sewing and stapling, so at LEAST an inch all around, but safer to do more).  I sewed the inside of the bed fabric together, then the outside.  I then put the correct sides of the fabric together with a rope piping in between them.  Luckily it all matched up, and I sewed them together.  When I flipped it right side out it looked pretty good.  I placed the fabric/rope piping cover over the batted sides, and stapled it on the inside and outside, on the base of the bed.

I used a fabric covered pillow in the bed.  The last detail that hides all the stapling is the trim.  I stapled that around the bottom, but you could also glue it.

I hope to see lots of pampered animals on luxurious beds!

Son won't you play me a memory?
I'm not really sure how it goes.
But it's sad and it's sweet
and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes.

great bed but my dogs are a little too large to do a bed like that, so I'll just admire your dog in her bed

Here are some pictures of the totally awesome dog bed I made for my fur-baby, Frances.  She is such a princess...
