so my mom wanted an aps camera for her birthday, and even though i told her again and again that it will be obsolete in a few years, she still wanted one to replace the one she had that broke. anyway, i digress, i made this case for her camera. its pretty simple, but i could put up a tutorial if anyone is interested.

ok, so this is my first tutorial, so i hope it isnt too confusing, and im not sure that the images will appear big enough on the site, so you might want to save them and then open them in a program you can look at them larger in. thanks for looking!

That is super cute.  Love your fabric choices and you did a very nice job.  I would love to see a tutorial if you have a chance to put one up.

I really like it! It has a great shape and the fabric is wonderful! I like your handle, too. I'd like to know, too: is it lined? I'm sure going to mark this one to watch and see if you get around to a tute!

Great job!

This is a really nice design! However, like Margarita, I too got stumped on the last 2-3 steps. I can't seem to sew the bottom neatly. And where did the bottom flap come from? In the illustration, piece #2 appears to have the same length from the top to the bottom as piece #1. Then in your instructional pic, it's longer, as a flap, which of course would be the bottom. So I had to cut another piece #2 longer so it would create that flap. In finishing up that bottom was a bear! Not sure I understand the illustration that says 'view from the top'. Is that as in looking down INTO the inside from the top flap?

It does seem to be a very simple pattern. But that illustration confused me. Any chance you could post actual pics of the steps? It is just a beautiful case!! TIA

Well, I did it! And I loved it! Thank you so much for the pattern and tutorial. I still had trouble with that bottom flap. Had to tweak it to make it work. But it turned out ok. So I'm really happy. I used blk trigger and for the lining I used a maroon colored quilted fabric they sell at Walmart (before they closed their fabric section). I also embellished it with an machine embroidered monogram. I think the trigger fabric looks very much like the fabric used in retail camera bags. I'll try and post a picture later.

This is my first time sewing something real and it's the first bag I've made. I decided to use this tutorial.. I love the instructions, it was cute how you drew/wrote everything out. I also had trouble following the last step (putting the bottom on), but other than that, the instructions were easy to follow and my mom helped me on the bottom, lol.

Here's pictures (sorry the color is kind of weird):
