I have a booth at a festival in a little less than two weeks. One of the things I've been making a lot of is ribbon belts. I'm experimenting with different styles, widths, etc. I personally prefer to wear ones that are 7/8" wide,  and only one layer. Obviously I know not everyone likes them the same way, so I thought I'd ask what kinds you craftsters prefer...1 reversible layer(made with ribbon that already has two different-looking faces), two layers so it's reversed side can be worn for a completely different look (made with 2 different kinds of ribbon sewn together), 7/8", 1 1/2"? I hope this makes sense, I'd really appreciate any opinions you can give me. Thanks!

I love ribbon belts (wide - 1-1/2), and really like them reversable - two looks in one! Who can complain?! Good luck at the festival! BTW, where is it?

personally i like 2 layer belts, they tend to be stronger, you know, so they actually function as a belt.  i always found it difficult to sew 2 ribbons together perfectly so i use stitch witchery(which i buy at walmart for $.98 a yard!), it's super easy and adds a little stiffness to the belt, which i prefer.

Sommerdesigns- The festival is at my high school (well I graduated, so it's not really mine anymore...oh well) in Johnstown, PA. They have 2 festivals every year- one in the fall, and one in the spring. Anyone who lives in the area should stop by!

Hardluckgal- I'm glad to hear stitch witchery works, I was considering using that for some 2-layer belts and wasn't sure if it would hold up.
